Burton Dassett hills is a two mile walk from the cottages and the beacon can be viewed from the farm. A lovely place to visit.

The mill was built in 1664 and blown down in a storm in 1946. The beacon was likely built by Lord of the Manor Sir Edward Belknap in the late 15th century as a tower mill and later used as defensive lookout tower in the English Civil War.
